NTFS disaster! BSOD! Arghhhhh!

Here I am asking for help again!

My upstairs computer (Win XP Home SP2) refused to start up today.

BSOD Stop: 0x00000024

After a little digging on the internet, this refers to NTFS.sys

I downloaded Hirens.BootCD.9.7 and managed to start it up with the Mini Windows XP on there.

I've ran CHKDSK on C: and it finds errors but can't fix them as it says the drive is read-only. Trying to view the disk from My Computer says it's RAW format and completely blank, however the NTFS Dos viewer on the shows all the files intact.

A SMART scan of the drive shows no errors.

Any ideas?

Cheers, in advance!

I think I've fixed it!

CHKDSK worked better when I put /v and /f after it!
