That's a likely area to find a problem. If it's solid cable it's prone to break if moved too much or it may not be a good contact in one of the clippy things..
Todays prize for remote diagnostics goes to DaiNasty - seems the "clippy things" for 3/6 in the problem jack aren't that great.
