You may well be right basa, re the secret gay theory, it is just a theory to explain otherwise incomprehensible behaviour of the mindless thug who murdered this young lad.
The comparison you make is more of a mob hate, macho, mindless violence, peer goading, crowd mentality..... call it what you will... just as incomprehensible and sickening but to me it's on a different level than the individual hating somebody because of a difference..... and carrying out murder with no entourage to encourage.
