hmm, lappys and high spec games tend not to mix primarily due to the graphics capability. You'd also be concerned about screen size. A Â£400 budget will be a tall order to get something that can make you happy. Any particular games in mind?

On the other hand my Dell core duo based lappy with 15.4" screen is after 3 years still doing me very well for office use (internet, email, wordprocessing, web design, etc). If you can cut out the gaming expectation, Â£400 for a lappy will get to a good computer.
