Re: Nurse suspended for offering to pray for patient's recovery

So now you're saying it's petty to be offended by someone putting you in an awkward position by pushing their faith on you uninvited.
Lovely Russ.
As I said, thankfully there are many people out there who, while holding their own beliefs, don't get offended by others showing theirs, but there are a few, who don't seem capable of accepting that others don't share their belief that they are following the one true path, and react in a negative manner. They may express it in subtle ways, not being as caring, or they may be blatant and start insulting people because of their differing beliefs, calling them all sorts of names in an attempt to belittle them.
Put yourself in the patients' shoes for a moment.
Having had negative reactions from people of faith by declining attempts to be included in that faith, the person who I'd be relying on to look out for me then puts me in a situation where I have to decide how to answer that I'm not interested without risking a reduction in that care.
As a vulnerable elderly person, I'd rather not be put in that position thank you very much.
Had you not considered that?

Do you really consider it so unreasonable a request to have her keep her beliefs private?
