Is the UK plug simply a plug, or is it a transformer, or something else with electronics on board? If it's simply something that allows you to connect your USB cable to a wall socket, then it should be fine if you attach it to a travel adaptor and plug it into a US wall outlet.

TBH even if it does have electronics in it, you're unlikely to damage it by putting half the voltage through it that it's rated for. You would have to be more cautious if you were bringing US kit to the UK.
