Remove artists from album view in iTunes...

...without deleting them form their host compilation.

I hope this makes sense.

I have a lot of dance music compilations on iTunes.

iTunes takes every song on these collections and sub-categorises the artists into albums so I've got loads of artists showing who I only ever want to find by a keyword search or their parent compilation, not by the actual artist of the song.

Most of these artists have only one song on the whole of my iTunes and I only really know the names of the songs, not the artists (which can also be the remixer).

Also, it seems that if I do an album search for the compilation name, it can list the same album multiple times by its track artists.

Basically, I want to remove these artists from the album grid view without deleting either the underlying songs or losing them from keyword and compilation searches.

I will give an example to clarify:

DJ compiles compilation which contains songs by artists.

iTunes treats every single artist as a separate entity although the chances of me ever wanting to find this way or another song by this artist ever going on my iTunes are very slim. It creates these artists as normal, like any other artist and creates a group under their name.

Also, iTunes creates a group which is the name of the compilation as well as the name of the DJ.

So,

I only want to see the grid view of the compilation itself and the DJ, not the individual artists (or remixers) who created the tracks on the compilation.

Thanks very much.
