Have you tried uninstalling the mouse/s from device manager then rebooting and letting Windows find & configure the thing again?

I also had a wee bit of of a mouse problem last night.
The wife practically hoovered up my only wired mouse,ripping the wire out completely then 10 minutes later the rechargeable batteries died in my current wireless mouse.So i searched the house for my 4 spare rechargeables or indeed any AAA,only to find them all in various kiddie toys,all dead or drained.

Sods Law at it`s very best.
