If you don't want people plugging stuff into your router, the most secure option is simple. Put it in a locked cabinet. You will need to make sure that the cabinet is ventillated (electrical equipment in confined spaces gets hot and you run the risk of burn out or fire).

You can either stick the cabling through the slots for ventillation or drill holes in it.
