It's pure tosh. I've got 20mb Virgin coming in via an NTL250 modem and a Netgear wireless router. However, the wireless connection is useless for my kids rooms upstairs so these are networked via Devolo Homeplugs, one connected in my office to the router and 2 others in the upstairs rooms. My son and I can play BF2, Half Life 2 or Trackmania without any problems whatsoever, even if my daughter uses her laptop (MSN etc) using the other Devolo we still don't see a drop in our ping.

The Devolo Powerline system has been a godsend for us and is the perfect solution for our networking.
