Actually, a Palestinian official, Nabil Shaath, said Bush said that to him - the White House denied this had actually happened; and another Palestinian leader, Mamhoud Abbas, said this wasn't what happened

I can't believe this - this is twice I have had to defend GWB, who I find politically and ethically abhorrent.
