Answered in PM as you asked me the same in a PM...

But for all those who might want to do the same thing...

A livebox can;t be used directly to the modem as the modem is trying to give it's IP out to a connected device, best to use a router (when I typed the original post I had a software firewall/router that did all the NAT) and then use the LAN port to connect the livebox to one of the router LAN ports...that way NAT is taken care of by the router and the livebox acts purely as a bridge between the ethernet and wireless..
