Verizon FiOS at 50Mbps down, 20Mbps up starts at $139.95 a month if you also have a Verizon phone, so it may be nice but it's not exactly cheap. The 10mbps package is Â£10 a month more than I pay for 10Mbps with VM too, although the uploads are much faster and I don't think they traffic shape.
