i beg to disagree as the tv line shares the modem line through a splitter into your home. AFAIK and from reading previous technical docs on the docsis standard, tv channels use frequencies different than the modem for internet. the modems are already set to specific frequencies which are non selectable by the user, so from what i see, a modem may sync but only 1 modem can actually transmit/recieve traffic at any given time.
the only time it would be possible if VM provisioned unused frequencies for the 2nd CM which I read on US forums that some cable co's do in the US. But your bandwidth usually gets limited (ie: 30mb/4mb down to 15mb/2) which only really is splitting the frequency.
