Someone earlier in the thread raised the issue of whether or not it had been established if a Timelord could change gender during the regeneration process. AFAIK, it hasn't, though IMO it would be stretching credibility just that little bit too far just for the sake of appeasing feminists & the politically correct elements of the viewing public. |
At the start of Destiny of the Daleks, Romana tried on different bodies (in much the same way we might try on clothes) before settling on the rather lovely form of Lalla Ward. A couple of them looked distinctly male, and one only looked vaguely humanoid, so it would seem that changing their apparent species is no problem, so I doubt that changing their apparent gender or apparent ethnicity would be any problem.
