It's your Ethernet card. It's probably on half duplex (or something like that) - you can check this on the network settings. If it says 10/100 then see if you can change it to 100/100. If you can't then take yourself down to the nearest PC World, throw them a fiver and they'll give you a new card. Stick that in and away you go.
