"Unlimited" (in my interpretation) implies you can download as much as you like at the connection you signed up to. If that's not the case, they should specify it in the T+Cs, or the small-print of the ads they keep churning out.

I'm gonna connect the shiny new modem today. Is it still worth me ringing up the activation team?
