both my laptops are running vista and i have never had a problem. Can you access the local network (ie ping another PC?) does it get an IP address from DHCP? (open cmd prompt [start > run > type cmd and press enter] then type in ipconfig /all) then look for the IP Address line and see if its got an address starting with 192.168.x.x If so it could be that the routers blocking it for some reason? You dont have MAC Address restricted access to your router do you?
