Well maybe its because I expect BT to be offering a first class and professional service as its the UK's pre-dominant and one of the UK's richest companies!

The only good thing about BT are:

Cheap calls to landlines
118500 Directory Enquiries incl www.118500.com
BT Payphones

They manage around 75,000 public payphones and considering the large number of vandals ect.... they are managed quite well, hardly ever come across a faulty payphone these days although there kiosks could be cleaned out bit more often in Central London. And they are quite competitive to in comparison to pay as you go mobiles, a 20 minute call to a landline during the day costs 40p, with Vodafone simply price plan that would cost £4! (20p per minute) and same with Orange.

BT Vision is something I would go for if I couldn't get Virgin Media.

I would never choose Sky Talk over BT or Virgin phone, its pointless wasting the time just switching to it considering how uncompetitive Sky Talk actually is.

And as for BT Mobile the virtual network which piggybacks off Vodafone, They are way too uncompetitive! There are so expensive in comparison to what other networks can offer, T-Mobile offer 1,400 minutes and unlimited texts for £30 per month as a sim only deal online only otherwise its 700 minutes. Virgin Mobile offer 1,000 minutes and 1,000 texts plus free voicemail for £30 per month for Virgin Media customers.

And last but not least,BT Broadband, probably the slowest broadband I have ever experienced and its quite overpriced too for what you get.

Considering the sale of MMo2 (BT Cellnet,Genie and its mobile networks in Ireland,Holland and Germany and BT paging) where has the money gone???

They could have used it to upgrade the network to fibre optic!

However, when using Dial up back in 2001/2 I found BT Openworld the best, its a shame they let things slip!
