Oh well...spoke to soon. Removed 81 viruses using NOD32 online scanner as well as some BHOs etc. and after a reboot...
"Windows could not start because the following is missing or corrupt:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CONFIG

Doing yet another Chkdsk /r to try and sort that out...

(It's not my PC by the way :o))
