I have a nice pair of K2 skates, cost about £75 with 50% off. Had tonnes of fun
Normally skate a good few miles with ease.
My recommendations are: Wheels of a size greater than 80mm (Mine are 84 i do believe).
Replaceable sock if you
really go to town with them.
