But you can have a BT phone with ADSL from one of many other different broadband providers. It's an ad for BT phone and people start talking about the less positive aspects of BT Broadband. I have a BT phone line, but I have Be broadband, it's not limited to under 8 meg and there is no phorm, so the OP could get that. He doesn't even have to touch BT Broadband.
