Looks like several peeps have similar probs with this model lappy from fujitsu. I see several or still waiting for a reply from the lappys official forum.

have you tried using the software from within windows if you have then i would press the f8 button, and aslong as you have nothing on there already that you can't loose do a restore on it then if it still doesnt do it contact, fuji as that is the first thing they will tell you to do had many run ins with stuff like this when i was working for comet, other than that you could try something like norton ghost or even try burning something to disk other than, a back up disc just to rule out the drive and also try another brand of disc i use phillip and people say not, cheap disc's but i used titanium i i think they were called for along time with no problems.

i think around 99% of laptop and pc drives are both +/- drives not seen one for along time that isn't.
