You're best off getting a router, e.g. -

That way, you can use the PC & the Xbox at the same time, without having to mess around swapping cables.


If you do a direct connection, you can only use one thing at a time - PC or Xbox. You also need to either clone the PC's MAC address onto the Xbox, or power cycle the modem each time you swap over.
