To get the menus, you need to use a scart splitter and plug your transmitter into the same output as for your main TV. I got one off ebay for about £3 and does the job fine.

By the way, I also have wirless internet installed in my home and have had no interference problems at all. My transmitter/reciever cost me £24.99 from Robert Dyas and works a treat. I'm afraid whoever told you to buy the expensive unit has mis-informed you. Was he the owner of a shop by any chance?
