i always automatically thought that if u put the 192.168.1.1 in ur tcpip settings it would use the settings the router is defaulted to for dns?
I find it's best to use your router's addy (usually 192.168.1.1 or something like that) for DNS on your machines, then if you change the DNS settings on the router, it'll change for any machine attached to the router.
