Thank you all for your assistance. I just checked my router and it is actually a netgear modem/router DG834N.
What I cannot get to understand it, is it possible to have it work then with my little Virgin media cable box, since i will not have an adsl cable arriving to my Netgear but only an ethernet cable to one of the slots, so how will it pass the signal to the other ports on the router and activate the wifi??!
