Sorry, didn't mean to sound so blunt, it's just various people have said the same thing on here, and (AFAIK) it is incorrect,

It's not really very helpful to say this, but that's one reason I always recommend Linksys routers (particularly the wrt 54g). They are like the Fords of the router world. They are relatively cheap and fairly common, so a lot of tech support agents know them.
