the above results are without the router in the loop, durr dozy me.... here are the ping results with the router connected....

reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms ttl=128

yes running norton 360, that has a firewall, but would'nt that effect me getting on the internet even with just the modem?
