VM has very recently started on a 40Gbit network upgrade, May, not sure how complete it is. BT do not have 100Gbit anywhere on their network at this time.
100Gbit is still largely in the labs. One major issue is that BT's network is Juniper and Cisco and there are no 100Gbit line cards or even 100Gbit/slot routers available as far as I'm aware. There are 100Gbit/slot switches but no 100Gbit line cards even for them yet. It's very very specialised stuff still.

That is far more than any other ISP would allow with their throttling thats for damn sure, especially BT now they are throttling everyone. |
I think it's not so much about how much you can download, but when you can download at full speed that's the cause of the complaints.
BTW you put an extra 0 on the end of the figure for 50Mbit
