Question Re: V Boxes update

My Pace DiTV2000 STB was giving trouble yesterday. It locked up on Hallmark (190) with a frozen picture, no sound and wouldn't respond to the remote or front panel controls (even the LED didn't blink when a button was pressed) so a warm reboot wasn't possible. I powered off and on but it was coming up with the dreaded 'Err3' which I believe implies a memory fault and usually requires a replacement box.

I persevered however and, after a few attempts at rebooting, the box eventually displayed a screen saying "Do not switch off ... your software is being updated" (or similar). Lo and behold!, after a few minutes, all was well again. I did have a problem later that evening but the symptoms were different and something I had seen before and knew how to fix so it may be unrelated or it could be the signs of an ageing box.

The point being that it seemed to download the same version of the software as I already had. So, it appears that the box eventually recognised that the software had become corrupt and needed to be reloaded.

However, is there a way to force a reload in situations where the box is slow to diagnose the fault?

Hardware Type: DiTV2000
Hardware Version: P2.18
Software Version: 13.100.1_ukcable
Application Version: 3_6_11_P10N_P_P2000_R_
QOS: copper.cm
