Re: DPI, Phorm, Webwise subthread for all things OT BR

todays daily wirless http://www.dailywireless.org/2008/06...ard-mobilizes/

covers a lot of ways to get and extend wireless net coverage , but the main part of interest for the demo and related wants/needs is probably the Free streaming video solutions near the end.

OC i like (always have since the rootnet days) the The Meraki Outdoor unit with the WiMAX modem pluged into it, to create an almost instant free wireless Mesh LAN and web gateway for anyone to use on a temp basis at such events as you might attend, but thats just me.

low power wireless Mesh networking and long distance are my want for the future.

preferably free after the initial hardware layout OC, and shared with other like minded people looking to bypass the ISPs total control of your data as much as possible...

all the way to a direct or mesh routed reasonable Co-Location site shareing the running costs by the likes of community Co-Ops and the like, some day.

OC thinking about the demo or other future event,if your in range of a wimax provider or are likely to be so at an event or near home, then it might a good thing to consider taking with you one of those and a meraki or two including the solar pannels or a lashup power of some sort, and share that bandwidth with others attending on the day .perhaps....
