I think most people
want their clubs to be succesful and not
assume they will be - Fine line between the 2, maybe people following clubs outside London can't understand that - although even I dont understand your logic behind that comment.

Where did I get the idea that you assumed Man U would win more than Real (or anyone else) from... I think it was when you said :

And in the post above you were responding to a comment I made specifically about Ronaldo i.e:

Maybe he is motivated by wanting to win the Champions League with his boyhood club. Maybe its not about winning but enjoying a different lifestyle in Spain.
Maybe he wants to play for a club which has more history of success than Man U - you know 9 european cups as opposed to Utds 3, and he doesnt want to stay at Utd just because they are the richest team in the world - as opposed to the most succesful.

So from the above its easy for me to say that you are assuming Man Utd will win more than Real.

I mentioned Real's history because we were talking about his motivation to leave. I suggested he might have always harboured desires to play for the club of his dreams, one with a history of a lot more success than Man Utd. I think its perfectly feasible for people to want to play for other clubs for that reason.
Real have convincing won the Spanish League this season gone, alot of followers of Spanish football can see them being a major force next season too. Maybe his motivation is joining a once great club to make them once great again.
