You say you know its a software problem, how do you come to that conclusion? Could be your ethernet card, ethernet cable or even the ethernet output of the modem none of these would have been used if you were using USB.

You did not post your SNR which should be between 29 and 50
The power levels would be the same whether you use ethernet or USB so why do you think this is the cause of the ethernet problem and not causing the same issue on USB?
