I am pleased to hear that, as I said it wasn't really that long ago I was at school and those events weren't mentioned at all, some one earlier said if we don't learn from history we are bound to repeat it, well that's for sure if you don't even learn the history in the first place

Agreed it's not covered as extensively as the holocaust is more a sort of background info leading up to the Japs declaring war on the US.Stalin's purges are mentioned but again only in passing as a sort of background info on communism before leading onto the Korean war.
The trouble with teaching the history of the 20thC is that there is sooo much documentation and photographs that covering it all is very difficult.Teaching about two world wars seems to take up most of the time.
However the sort of history I would like covered has so little info available that it's just not covered.I'd rather know more about the bronze age and the people who built Stonehenge.Pre-Roman history is barely touched on..
