First off, this, from last month:

23 May 08 – Ed Balls MP, the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, visited the UK Holocaust Centre today to announce the forthcoming opening of ‘The Journey’, a unique new exhibition about the Holocaust designed for primary school aged children.

“This exhibition will be hugely beneficial to help young children learn about the history of the Holocaust in an appropriate way. But its not just about absorbing information – it will also give young children a chance to question values, behaviours and attitudes and as such will be an investment in the future cohesion of our schools and communities,” said Ed Balls.

Secondly, two of the Cabinet, Ed and David Milliband are descended from Jewish refugees from Nazi Europe. The Labour Party has historically been a comfortable home for Jewish people (Kaufmann, Janner and numerous others). Are they likely to sit comfortably with an official policy of Holocaust denial? Are the Labour Friends of Israel (which includes numerous high-ranking party figures) going to sit idly by? Considering it was led until her death by the supreme battleaxe Gwyneth Dunwoody, this is unlikely.

Thirdly, it's total bunkum, of course. Muslims are perfectly able to accept that the Holocaust occurred. That there are idiotic, unpleasant Muslims who don't is undoubtably true, but there are idiotic, unpleasant ordinarydecentworkingclassbritons who don't, as well, often in the BNP. Neither group is about to get appeased by Government order.

Oddly enough, if you want Holocaust denial, try examing conspiracy theorists. Lots of it around in 9/11 conspiracy circles ('Well, it was the Jews what done it, wasn't it? Stands to reason'). Google for 'Nick Kollerstrom'.
