Exactly, all football league clubs, county cricket teams and the top rugby clubs have to pay a hefty amount for policing at their venues.

A police state!! this phrase is bandied about almost on a whim nowadays, if you honestly believe the policing of a demo is tantamount to a police state seaofpepsicola, I can only assume you have made a mistake in your choice of words. A
real police state would have been South Africa under the repressive apartheid system or Adolph Hitlers Nazi Germany, both of these dictatorships operated a brutal secret police, who were only answerable to the higher echelons of the regime. Unless I'm mistaken British citizens do not disappear from our streets to be tortured and later dumped dead in some back alley at the behest of some shadowy British Gestapo,
that would be the behaviour of a police state, not policing a school demo.
