Re: Remote Desktop Connection problems with Nvidia AGP

A little update & replies to your posts:

Jon T: Thanks for that link there mate, however, I have read all the pages, and although I regiestered over 2 hrs ago, still not got confirmation & the email to respond to activate account, and after reading it, tis strange cos I can actually run RDC, no errors, apart from it being like I'm trying to run XP on an old 386 with 256 colours lol!

bmxbandit: I originally used the drivers that came on the CD, but I upgraded to the latest drivers, that totally screwed things up, still the RDC problem, but no videos would work, it was like 1 frame every 2 seconds, to reverted back to original drivers & that sorted out my video problem, so nope, updated drivers didnt do the trick

Kymmy: yes all that was set anyway, I dont have any options set apart from the themes, which used to work 100% fine, just like I was sat at the computer when using RDC/

Hardware acceleration has not been changed from the default, and I can confirm that it is on, just like with my old ATI Radeon card. I am using XP Pro on both machines, have not had any probs since installing the Nvidia card, and you say its a "low end" card, well it cost me £59.99 (it is the 256MB version, AGP x8 set in BIOS) and if it ran my old ATI card OK (that was also 256MB & AGP x8) why wont it work with this 1?

There is no other problems with the card, I have even better 3dMark results with this than my old ATI card (just a shame I blew it up with my £300 PVR when I connected the S-Video lead with both switched on, yea I know that was stupid, and Im surprised that nothing else blew up too!) I just dont know what to do next, I dont wanna go back to my 64Mb PCI card, as I am quite attatched to this 1, online gaming is even better, and I would go as far as to say I hardly get any lag now, and the graphics are much more "realistic" (Halo online multi-player in particular) so I really do not know, but I have calmed down now after my hissy fit with it all, and all I can hope for is that an answer comes from somewhere!

Thanks for your contrbutions all!
