Unfortunately, D, a lot (not all, I hasten to add) of IT recruitment agents have the approach of "if I throw enough ordure at the wall, some of it may stick".

Having said that, it's worth persevering (imho); I found one or two who specialised in my area (Senior IT Management and Programme Management) and who were very professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, got me jobs
