Re: Tory MP blames BBC for attacks on Poles.

It's not the BBC that's inventing stories about Eastern Europeans eating swans or whatever, now is it? Do I really have to spell out where such stories appear? The Tories really are coming out of the woodwork now it looks like they'll win a majority, and it's not pretty.

The insight into Mr. Kawczynski's mindset given by the following two facts:

a) Negative media coverage of immigrants leads to attacks on them
b) Negative media coverage should be somewhere other than on Poles, like West Indians, Africans and Asians

would seem to suggest he'd prefer it if we all attacked some other bunch of immigrants rather than Poles, you know, spread the violence around a bit. Personally I think a responsible MP ought to be concentrating on expressing his abhorrence on xenophobic and racist attacks on foreigners and the media reports that lead to this rather than picking on the BBC, but this is the extreme right of the Stupid Party, after all. Maybe a few Daily Mail front pages should be sent his way.

He's a member of the Cornerstone Group, a deeply unpleasant bunch of reactionary sods, also including Andrew Rosindell, John Redwood and Nadine Dorries, who as near as dammit got called a liar in Parliament last week (she was lying, too). They're not your touchy feeling Cameroonies by any stretch.
