The public holiday makes little difference as i am in turkey for a friend's wedding anyway.
Rather embarrassingly i got drunk on friday and while i remember speaking to the bride, i have no recollection of her dad being there. He was sitting next to her. I have photos that prove it.
Still, he paid for my birthday meal, bought us all beers and let us sit in his car to drink them (turkey does not allow drinking outside unless you are in a licenced restaurant or bar and he , being the ex chief of police wanted us to follow the law.)
Anyway, had a brilliant time.
