re: Rate the last movie you saw

30 Days of Night - basically, load of ancient vampires turn up for a little snacking on the people of a town that becomes dark for 30 days once a year.

I thought it was poor. It lept about too much - time passing quickly, then slowly. Also no real acknowledgement by the survivors that they were dealing with vampires, and none of the usual defences. Just went for beheading, which is a little tricky to accomplish with your throat hanging out. No religion neither - whole town without a single priest or vicar. One of the vampires said there was no God - but presumably said vampire comes from Hell, in which case there must be a heaven, and by extension, a God. One of two shock moments but on the whole, not very scary. Nice aerial shot of the carnage, which made me think of Warcraft.

A modern slasher movie with a bit of added intelligence - 5/10
