I have a Virgin STB downstairs and a broadband Router upstairs. Both are fed by a cable which runs into the house into each room, and then from a panel on the wall. I want to connect my router to my PC which I will move downstairs next to the HD TV. Can I simply use an LNB splitter on the cable between the wall panel and STB?, or is it a different signal for each box (STB/Router)?

I want to leave the upstairs set up intact in case I get another PC. I understand I will have to bring the router downstairs.
