A lot of what you post is obviously well informed, however. I'm just a bit wary of people taking everything you say as gospel (particularly when I have to self-censor on the same subjects due to reasonably privileged information, and thus can't always go 'hang on a minute, it's really xyz').

Also, you need to define 'enabled' better in posts like that, since to my mind '50Mb enabled' means:
* new CMTS installed and cutover,
* new CPE tested and certified for BAU,
* diagnostic tools ready,
* training complete for call centres and engineers,
* DHCP configs complete and
* billing/provisioning system updated so we can actually sell and install it

Miss out one of those and it's not 'enabled', to my mind. To a customer all that condenses down to 'can I buy it?', of course, which is the true test of all this. What did you mean by 'enabled', incidentally?

On the STM question, googling for 'subscriber traffic management' gets nearly twice as many hits as 'system traffic management', and the latter phrase doesn't seem to have much to do with cable. A lot of the hits for 'subscriber' refer directly to Virgin's implementation or Cisco's technology that lies behind it. Most of the hits for 'system' seem to refer to road traffic management schemes.
Hi,

Yes i know the locations, when i referred to ex-cw getting it first that is due to the config being rolled out there first (tested, confirmed, hackers had a field day with trying to get it to register on the headend)

No worries, that is the exact reason i dont release technical details on the said subject, i dont let on more than people need to know.

If i had given out technical information my source would indeed be found out amongst other people i am also in contact with.

And as i'm sure you know, VM dont take kindly to letting their customers know anything.

As no doubt you have your contacts (as you have said) the one time i did release abit of technical info it kicked up quite a fuss with management over at VM, lesson learnt.

As per the STM question, trust me, it's changed to system traffic management per ready for the application throttling rollout (which is coming) along with the overnight STM.
