Thanks very much for all your kind answers.
I don't have a Maplin nearby and needed the solution fairly quickly. I got similar cable as suggested by Toto, in Homebase and it has done the trick beautifully!
A mere Ã‚Â£5.99 as opposed to Ã‚Â£75 for a call out engineer from VM - why couldn't they have been as helpful??? Anything for extracting money from customers who don't know any better I suppose!!!
