As for the power button,it's quite possible that your TV remembers what was last on because if I activate Freeview and then put the TV on standby it's still on Freeview when I start up ( so long as I don't turn the power off as this wipes the memory).

Might be worth checking your favourites list in both analogue mode and in Freeview mode just to see what is being listed.
For a £350 TV, I'm very impressed. Ok comparing it with the £500+ TV's in the shop you could see a difference, but the analogue image is the best I've seen (and I'm only sitting about 2 feet from it), and playing COD4 in 1080i is great fun
