It will work fine with ADSL but you will have to use a separate modem.

I have a linksys cable/dsl router (Wrt54GL) connected to an ADSL2+ line via a speedtouch 585v6 (which is in bridge mode)

The speedtouch is fine as a modem but as a router it's somewhat lacking hence why i have the linksys hanging off the back of it...
