Re: Aaaaaaarrrgghh!!! Problems..... please help

In 2006, the exchange of e-mails to which I refer in my original post, amounted to 21, 14 of which were from me. I addition to these, I telephoned on four occasions, and on each was promised that someone would call back; no-one did. I should say that at this time, I was working full time and nursing my father who died in March 2006 of cancer. I think I took every reasonable step to continue the service.

If a utility company disconnected supply of service then, yes - the sum outstanding at the time of disconnection would continue to be owed.... but once disconnected, the utility company could not continue to apply new charges (except, perhaps, interest on the debt) month-on-month in respect of the service it was no longer providing.

The letter I received this morning which states the further increased sum outstanding is from Virgin Media, not Garlands. This letter is in response to my letter of 11th January, sent via recorded delivery and copied to Garlands. Since writing on 11th January, I have sent: five e-mails in January; seven e-mails in February; eleven e-mails in March; and seven e-mails last week - all to Virgin Media (and copied to Garlands) requesting a response and resolution. How doggedly determined must one be to achieve reasonable dialogue with a service provider?
