On a separate note, will I now have a problem if I decide to move to Virgin + as I cant find my old box?

your internet & TV come down the same cable so if they disconnect the TV you will also loose your internet. also as you already have Sky it would be cheaper for you to get Sky HD/+ & you'l get more HD channels if thats what your after.
