No, that is not correct.
You may only use EITHER the USB connector, OR the Ethernet connector on the modem at any one time. To switch between the two, completely remove one of them and unplug the modem and replug in the modem.
However, if you want multiple computers to connect to your internet service you want a Cable/DSL router (Note the missing A in DSL), this will allow multiple ethernet connections to the router, which connects to the modem. This way you can have many many users on one router. And still only use Ethernet on your modem (as the router attaches to it).
